Columbia Independent School concluded its twentieth year just a few weeks ago. In the early years of the middle and upper school, students started the year traveling to Potosi, Missouri to Camp Trout Lodge as part of an annual process of bonding through team building activities. Over time, the “retreat” process has differentiated by division, grade level, and location.
This year we look to return to our roots with middle and upper school students sharing their retreat experience at Camp Trout Lodge.
Students will have the opportunity to bond with classmates in smaller activities, while familiarizing themselves with the culture of the middle and upper school in larger activities.
Students and teachers will depart in charter buses from White Knight from the CIS south parking lot at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 16 and return by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 17. The cost of the trip is $110 and checks should mailed in or submitted to the front desk no later than Friday, August 10. You can also pay online.
This sum covers transportation, lodging, activities, and meals for the duration of the trip. Should this cost create a financial difficult for your family, please contact Business Manager Beth Edwards for information regarding financial aid opportunities.
In the coming weeks, you will receive more information about this trip and other pertinent information for the upcoming school year.
