We Depend on Parent (and Grandparent!) Volunteers
CIS encourages all parents to become actively involved in one or more parent association activities throughout the school year. Day, evening, and weekend opportunities are offered so that everyone can participate. All of us are aware that it is the willingness and generosity of parent volunteers that make CIS a better place for children and families.
A Word from our PA President
Dear Columbia Independent School Families,
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! On behalf of the Parent Association (PA), I am delighted to extend a warm and enthusiastic welcome to both new and returning families to our wonderful school community.
As your PA President, I am committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that enriches the educational experience of all our students. Our PA is a dedicated group of parents who work collaboratively to enhance the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our children. Each parent is automatically a PA member and attendance at PA meetings is mandatory. Only kidding, but we would love to see you at the PA meetings which can be found on the 2023-2024 Activity Calendar for Families.
We have an exciting year ahead of us, filled with engaging events and initiatives that will further strengthen our sense of community and involvement. There are so many different ways to get involved, and parent involvement is something that makes CIS such a special place. We understand that each family’s schedule and commitments may vary, so we offer flexible ways to get involved, both on and off-campus. Whether you can spare a few hours volunteering during events or contribute from home, every contribution is valued and appreciated.
In the coming weeks, we will share more details about our PA’s plans and how you can participate. Look out for the Lion’s Letter emails and announcements on our school website and CIS Parent App. We will also send out sign-up genius links when we get closer to each event.
In closing, I would like to express my gratitude for entrusting your child’s education to Columbia Independent School. It is our privilege to be part of your child’s journey in the pursuit of knowledge and personal growth. Together, let us create a memorable and fulfilling academic year for our students.
The PA believes in the power of open communication and strong partnerships between families and the school. We encourage you to be actively involved in your child’s education, and we value your insights, suggestions, and feedback. If you have any questions, ideas, or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any member of the PA. You can email us at cispa@cislions.org.
Once again, welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at Columbia Independent School. Let us embark on this exciting journey as a united and supportive school community.
Warm regards,
Nicole Murphy
