Arts
The CIS mission includes excellence in creative achievement. Whether as students of music history, string players, band members, or choristers, CIS students find opportunities for creative expression in the Music program. Performing Arts students work on individual and group speech and theater projects, exploring traditional material, literature, plays and their own original voices as writers, readers and actors. Creating a safe and supportive environment is strongly emphasized, as is learning and honing performance techniques in class and in front of an audience. Drawing on observation, creative intelligence, discovery and invention, Visual Arts classes incorporate an evolving array of studio projects in various media as well as collaborative experiences reaching across the curriculum and out into the community.
