Giving to CIS
CIS depends on the generosity of the entire community. The Annual Fund, The Gala, and other tax deductible gifts provide a CIS education for many students. It is critical that each of us contribute as generously as possible to assist the students who are committed to hard work, high standards and good citizenship. Give of your time by investing in the development activities that interest you, such as the Read-A-Thon and The Gala. We also encourage you to give of your financial resources by contributing to the Annual Fund and The Gala, giving donations in kind, or funding an endowment.
Annual Fund
As with most independent schools, tuition covers only a portion of the annual operating costs. Parents, the Board, the administration/faculty, and our friends in the community must raise the remaining funds. The Annual Fund plays a pivotal role in the continued growth and success of Columbia Independent School.
The Gala
Dinner, silent auction, live auction, raffles all happen on this one glorious night. This event has become "the" black tie event in Columbia. The generosity of all those who attend, and all those who donate their time and energy, provides support for the high-quality education offered by Columbia Independent School.
Read-A-Thon
Columbia Independent School chooses one day to celebrate reading. Although our students are avid readers and enjoy the written word, we dedicate a day and bring in celebrity readers from the community. Our students raise money for the school by reading.
Scholarship Dinner
The Columbia community has many fascinating and unique homes. We are fortunate that among our many generous donors, each year one of them will open their home for this exciting event benefitting Columbia Independent School's scholarship program.
