Dear CIS Families and Friends,
My name is Eryca Neville and I have been on the CIS Board of Trustees since 2008. As a new board member I have been utterly amazed by the commitment and energy of a core group of outstanding individuals who work tirelessly to ensure that CIS continues to provide the best educational opportunity available in mid-Missouri. That sense of commitment has spread throughout the CIS family. That commitment was confirmed by countless volunteer hours invested by families, students and faculty as we prepared our new building for the 2009-2010 school year. It is shared by the fact that we now have a record number of new families enrolled.
My children are currently enrolled at CIS because it is the best education available. Our Lower School provides all students with the opportunity to not only work on all content areas but they have access to foreign language and a science specialist. This is a rarity in Missouri. Our Upper School provides an enriched multi-faceted education that is comparable to receiving an “honors” educational experience throughout the day. This is a privilege reserved for an elite few in most PK-12 environments. This school is a jewel! Our children receive something very special. I know we have something extraordinary at CIS and that is why I agreed to work with the Annual Fund this year.
As we begin this new era of CIS development and start our 2009-10 Annual Fund drive, I am personally asking that each family “Appreciate, Celebrate and Participate!” with us through this commitment. Tuition only covers roughly 83% of the cost of educating each student. Ideally we would need $2,350 more per child to fully fund the yearly cost of education. The Annual Fund helps to supplement this deficit. Each donation from families and extended families helps to provide funding for:
* Student Support – for activities, library books, and other texts
* Teacher Salaries – we have the BEST school faculty in mid-Missouri
* Professional Development – our teachers deserve to enhance their knowledge
* Student Financial aid – 37% of our students receive some type of financial assistance
We need you! We need you to participate! We have two goals for this year:
- We want 100% participation from our CIS Trustees, Faculty and Families.
- We want to double the amount we raised in last year’s Annual Fund.
No matter the size, any gift to the Annual Fund will significantly impact the learning environment of the children. There are many ways to give: you can return the donation form that you received in the mail along with your payment, print and return the online donation form, or you can donate by using the online giving button below.
Thanks for being a part of the CIS family!
Sincerely,
Eryca Neville
